One of the outcomes of the exhibition ‘Cadence and Counterpoint: Documenting Santal Musical Traditions’ is an essay by one of the curators, Mr Mushtak Khan, on the Banam, the Santal stringed instrument sculpted from wood. This small booklet designed by Philippe Karrer Studio brings together Banams from three different collections and the essay that discusses their distinct perspectives. It was edited by Marie-Eve Celio-Scheurer and Ruchira Ghose.
